With more than 450,000 students eligible to cast a ballot, the 2010 election will be exciting.

The essay contest was open to all fifth graders in Pasco County. The essays were judged by members of the Veterans of Foreign Wars. The first place prize was $500.00, second place was four tickets to a Tampa Bay Lightning game and third place was a new bicycle.

The Election was held on September 11, 2009 and this was the first time a Hernando County school used the online voting system provided by Kids Voting Tampa Bay. The students elected a President, Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer.
